Brayden & Bailey are 9 Months Old!

 

I have been sooo slack on writing these monthly posts. The babies are always on the move now and I don't have much time to sit and write monthly updates {and it takes me so long to write...I sort of dread it sometimes.} Unfortunately, this post is almost a month late but at least I can document a few things from their 9 month checkup.

 

 

Bailey Boo ~ Our sweet baby girl. As of your 9 month checkup, you are weighing 22 lbs. and 14 oz. You are 28.25 inches long. You are perfect to me. You are 10 oz. bigger than your brother..which we could tell that here lately when we pick you up. You are one heavy girl. Your brother has you beat by just a little on the height tho. I think he's gonna take after your daddy and you are going to take after me. You will probably be blessed with short legs just like your momma. :) {and that's not a bad thing!!} You are still wearing size 4 diapers. Ya'll will probably be wearing those for a little bit longer. They seem to fit ya'll well. You are still sleeping thru the night. You still go to bed around the same time; however, a few times last week you and Brayden stayed up late. You are waking up a little bit later than what you used to. Here lately you've been waking up around 8 or 8:30 and I'm loving it. It is absolutely wonderful!!! Your eating schedule is pretty much the same. We give you a 6 oz. bottle in the morning with oatmeal. You chugg that thing down girl! You usually whine because you want more. Sometimes we will give you 2 more oz. and sometimes you end up forgetting about it and end up playing. You usually lay down for a morning nap...but not always. If you do, you usually will nap for about 45 minutes or so then your ready to get back up and play. I usually spoonfeed you around 12 or 12:30. You and Brayden definitely let me know when it's time for lunch. I always sing...."What time is it? It's time for lunch. What time is it? It's time for lunch." That song is from one  of the programs you watch on Disney Jr. We still give you and Brayden 1 vegetable and 1 fruit a piece. After that we give ya'll a 4 oz. diluted apple juice bottle. After lunch ya'll usually play for a little bit and then your ready for your afternoon nap. You sweet girl usually sleep for about 2 hours or so. You still are a great sleeper! You have always been and I hope it stays that way. ;) If you don't have your nap, you are one unhappy camper. You usually yawn or rub your eyes so I know when it's time to lay you down. I can put you in your crib and you usually will lay there and go right to sleep. Here lately you like to have your pink blanket in your hand and right beside your face. I always turn Scout or Violet on to the sleeping music and before long you are out. You are now pulling up on E.V.E.R.Y.T.H.I.N.G.!! Before you would only pull up on me or your daddy....now it's whatever you can get your hands on. You love pulling up on the foyer table and pulling on my burlap table runner. I have to get onto you but you just look at me and smile. You always have to have what Brayden has. You can have a bottle in your hand and for some reason you always want his. You crawl on top of him and grab it. Not only do you want his bottle but you want anything he has. We've been getting on to you for this because we have to teach you to share. I know you will understand this eventually but right now it's just something new. You are saying a few things...."ma-ma" and "ga-ga." You haven't said "da-da" yet but we know it won't be long. You recently started saying "ga-ga." Who knows what that means. haha Your hair is still curly and it's absolutely beautiful. Your hair has grown sooo much in the back. I can't get over how pretty it is. Your eyes are still that beautiful blue. I love it! I hope they stay that way. You now have your top 2 front teeth. You have 2 more coming in up top too. Just when I thought your smile couldn't get any cuter....it did!!! You are absolutely beautiful Bailey and we love you sooo much!!!

 

 

Little Brayden ~ Our sweet baby boy. As of your 9 month checkup, you weighed 21 lbs. and 4 oz. You are 28.5 inches long. You are one long and slender boy. I definitely believe you are going to take after your daddy. :) You are still wearing size 4 diapers. You can still wear 9 month clothes but you can also wear some 12 month clothes. I put a 12 month sleeper on you last night thinking it would be too big but it fit perfect. I couldn't believe it. You are still sleeping thu the night. You started doing this at 8 months and you made me and your daddy soooo happy. It's soooo nice getting a full nights rest. You usually go to bed around 9 and usually wake up around the same time as your sister. She usually wakes you up in the mornings which is surprising. Here lately you have been staying up later. Not sure why you've been doing this but we only let you do it for a couple nights because we didn't want you to get in the habit of staying up late. You are on the same eathing schedule as Bailey. We introduced a few new whole foods to ya'll this past month and of course ya'll loved them. Anything we eat now....you and Bailey want too. Ya'll especially love the milk from my cereal in the mornings. You both get excited when you see me walk into the room with my bowl. Most of the things we eat, we give ya'll a little taste as long as we think it won't mess with your tummies. Anything we give you, you say "hhhmmm" after we give it to you. You want to make sure we know you like it so you can have some more. haha :) Your daddy gave you a little taste of chicken noodle soup the other day and I think that was the longest "hhhhmmm" we've gotten yet. It was too funny. Everything we've given ya'll so far....ya'll have liked. Maybe ya'll won't be picky eaters like me. Your sister always tries to grab your bottle. She gets on top of you and grabs it. Sometimes you will just let her grab it and then you'll whine and I'll know she got it. Other times you will tease her. She will get on top of you and try to grab your bottle, you will take it out of your mouth and laugh at her and then put it back in your mouth. It's soooo funnyyyy!!! You are sooo smart!! Your sleeping pattern is a little different from Bailey's. You may or may not take a nap in the morning but most of the time you will lay down for a nap in the afternoon but only sleep for 30 - 45 minutes....and that's if your extremely tired. When you do lay down to sleep, you always like to have your "monk monk." You hold him in your arm and rub him with your other arm. If I'm in the room leaning over your crib, you reach for my hair. Sometimes I have to let it down so you can run your fingers thru it {you are the spitting image of your daddy!!!} It's the sweetest thing. You always have to have your paci and it has to be one of the soft ones. Your are one talking little boy. You ALWAYS say "da-da." Everything is "da-da." You say "ma-ma" too but it's usually when you are hungry. You also say "bye bye" and have started waving. It's sooo cute. You wave at everything now....{tv, blinds, Mrs. Kathy, anything and everything.} You are still pulling up on everything and started out taking steps hanging onto the ottoman. Now you can walk around the ottoman. It's the craziest thing. Your eyes are still a pretty blue and we still wonder if they'll get darker. Either way....you are one handsome boy!! :) Your hair has grown sooo much. If I comb it down in the front, it hangs in your eyes. Your gonna need a trim here soon. It doesn't really have a red tint like it used too. I think it's gotten a little darker but it's still really blonde at the roots. I'm curious to see what color it ends up being. You and Bailey's favorite toy is still the house that David Papa got you. You think your something because you can stand on top of one of the pieces and see over it. You and Bailey like to hear the music and swing the door back and forth. Ya'll also like to crawl in the door to the other side. Your daddy and I have blocked off the other rooms so ya'll only stay in the living room. Well.....we thought we did. You smart boy....figured out how to crawl OVER the boy basket and get into the kitchen. You and Bailey have both done this. We had to figure out another way to block ya'll off so we moved the ottoman and the recliner and you smarties can't get thru now. You are one smart and handsome boy Brayden. Everyday you amaze your daddy and I with the things both you and Bailey do. Brayden, you are absolutely adorable and
